Changelog
What changed in each release of the Mac app, newest first. The web workspace updates continuously and is not listed here.
1.1.0 · 2026-10-16
- Each shot in the storyboard can now have its own visual treatment, and samples and final videos follow it. Four built-in treatments to start, with more to come in the library.
- Video platform sign-ins can be brought over from the browser you already use, so you don't have to sign in again in the app.
- Updates: downloads show progress, the ready-to-install prompt comes to the front, and Restart really restarts.
- Samples, narration and final videos need this version; older versions will ask you to update. Collecting footage is unaffected.
1.0.2 · 2026-10-08
- The command-line tool is now called mtg. After updating, install it again from the Montagist menu; if you use the Agent Skill, run its install command again.
- This update is required: earlier versions can no longer connect and will ask you to update.
1.0.1 · 2026-10-07
- The tools downloaded on first launch now come from our own download address first, which is more reliable on networks in mainland China.
- The sign-in window for video platforms no longer hangs at the last step.
- Interface fonts ship with the app instead of loading from another site.
1.0.0 · 2026-10-06
- First public release.
- Collect footage, cut samples, record narration and render the final video on this Mac; footage and finished videos stay on it.
- Install with one command. Check for updates from the menu bar; downloading and restarting both ask you first.
- Ships with a command-line tool. The skill for Claude Code and Codex is in the public repository.
