No license needed. Open Terminal, paste the line below and press Return — or download the installer, open it and drag the app into Applications.

• Moves Montagist into Applications.
• Installs the mtg command-line tool.

Paid edition

The paid installer is being prepared and will be published here. Early buyers: sign up with the email you paid with and confirm it — the license appears in your account automatically.

First launch: follow the system prompts

Montagist is signed with our own certificate rather than notarized by Apple. Whether you use the command or the installer, macOS may ask you to confirm on first launch. Follow the steps below if prompted and confirm access permissions only when needed.

1. Double-click Montagist. macOS says it can't verify the developer — click Done or OK to close the message.
2. Open the Apple menu › System Settings › Privacy & Security, and scroll down to Security.
3. Click Open Anyway and enter your Mac login password. The button is available for about an hour after you try to open the app.
4. When asked again, click Open. From then on it opens like any other app.

System requirements

• A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later). Intel Macs are not supported.
• macOS 13 or later.
• An internet connection on first launch: the app checks for and downloads the production tools it needs into its own data folder, without touching your system.
